In response to environmental and energy crises, the world is focusing on electric vehicles (EV) and emerging technologies. Technologies developed for electric vehicles have great potential to accelerate the development of smart and sustainable transportation and help build smart cities in the future. This article explores new and emerging EV technologies, including wireless charging, smart energy distribution, vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-grid (V2G), vehicles connected, and autonomous driving. The opportunities, challenges, and prospects of EV technology development are discussed together. Successful cases of the commercial development of EV technologies are emerging worldwide. This review serves as a guideline and guide for the development of future technology and the purchase of EVs and provides ideas and recommendations for future intelligent transportation.

In response to the problem of climate and energy, worldwide attention is being paid to the use of transportation methods for the development of electric vehicles (EV) [1]. Currently, there are still a lot of internal combustion engine (ICE) cars around the world, which consumes a lot of fuel. Therefore, the speed of electric cars is approaching. Pure battery EVs, hybrids and gasoline EVs make up the category of “green” EVs. Hybrid EVs can be considered a substitute because they still consume fuel and reduce pollution [2]. Although EV fuel has many advantages, such as high energy, long range, and hydrogen fuel, their technology and market are not mature [3]. A pure battery car is a zero-emission vehicle that runs entirely on electricity generated by the battery. With the continuous progress of battery technology, the rapid development of hybrid systems, and people’s pursuit of low-carbon transportation in recent years, clean EV batteries and – are now used by most EV markets and are suitable for the main brands [4 . , 5, 6]]. Passenger concerns [7, 8], insufficient charging capacity [9, 10], and time management [11, 12] are the main obstacles that prevent the development of EVs. Identifying EV technologies, including wireless charging [13], power distribution [14], vehicle-to-home (V2H) and vehicle-to-vehicle -grid (V2G) [15], connected vehicles (CVs) [16], and autonomous vehicles [17], providing new solutions to the ongoing problems of hindering the development and diffusion of EVs, and also providing good opportunities for the

rapid development of the new EV market. The use of free and autonomous driving makes EVs easier and smarter to use, and the range of EVs can be increased without carrying the battery. The popularity of the use of wireless, smart grid and V2G also provides solutions to reduce the lack of access to infrastructure and the control of time management. The distribution of smart electricity and V2G can reduce the pressure on the grid in times of high electricity to install and combine V2H to use electricity efficiently. In addition, CV and autonomous driving will improve people’s transportation experience and give new impetus to the development of EV in addition to environmental and energy issues.

The new technologies in this review are important in addressing the technical barriers that exist in EVs, increasing the affordability of EVs for consumers, and promoting their market development and maturity. The successful experiences of electric power development in some countries are summarized in this book which provides some guidelines and best practices for the EV road in the future. Therefore, this document presents ideas and recommendations about the development of electronic devices in smart cities in the future.
