This despite the drama that began on Monday, with two victims, Darien and Susan, criticizing the BBC’s controversial decisions to honor Savile and reject their exposure.
Darien said: “I think the BBC and other institutions are strange, they really talk about a man we all know, they want to make him a saint.
“I think it’s known that there are allegations against Jimmy Savile… don’t let this happen again. Don’t do it. Please.”
Susan added of the tribute show: “I found it disgusting and I didn’t watch it on TV. I can’t bear to watch it because I know otherwise.”

Along with fellow victims Sam and Kevin, Darien and Susan form a team involved in The Reckoning, and their testimony is mixed with drama.
All four have their stories told in the show, which is produced by the team led by executive producer Jeff Pope.
On the Prime Minister’s Program on Thursday, he admitted the BBC’s decision not to broadcast the interview on Newsnight was a “disaster”.
But he didn’t give anything away except to say so at the end of the last episode of The Reckoning.

Jeff said: “We’ve responded to the BBC. I think we know that – we’ve had two victims say, ‘This is disgraceful’.”
A reference to Newsnight, which has been removed from the sentence, was shown on screen at the end of the last episode for a few seconds.
“I think it’s very clear that the people who worked closely with him, who supported his promotion from program to program, who heard the rumors, said, ‘I don’t think this is the right thing. . . . We are very clear about that.”
He talks about how in the 60s and 70s Bill Cotton, who became head of light entertainment and then BBC1 boss, championed Savile first as host of Top Of The Pops and then Jim’ll Fix It.

Nevertheless, he was warned against Savile by the head of the BBC, Anna Instone, especially after the death of a 15-year-old girl while appearing on TOTP.
The Reckoning shows the devastating effects of a teenager apparently raped by Savile after the show was recorded and Instone confronted by Cotton.
Yet so little time was spent looking into the scandal surrounding the Savile Newsnight revelations that it was axed – a decision believed to have contributed to the resignation of chief executive George Entwhistle in 2012 after just two months in the job.
The BBC and the creative team tried to point out that the drama was actually an ITV Studios production, despite being broadcast on BBC1.

Jeff said: “It makes sense that an outside organization is doing this, not a BBC production. Our reputation is at stake because it looks like the BBC have done their homework.
“It was clear to us early on that we had no one on our shoulders and we were free to make the film we wanted to make.
“To be honest, there was no part of the process where we felt we were being scrutinized or pressured to make changes or undermine the BBC.”
It took an ITV show in 2012 to reveal Savile, who died in 2011 aged 84, because of his animal. Hundreds of victims contacted the police.

The makers claim that they only want Reckoning to look at the story of Savile’s life and how he got away with his crimes while he was still alive.
This highlighted the failings of a number of institutions including Broadmoor Mental Hospital, Leeds General Infirmary and Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
In it, Savile also displayed a morbid charm with Margaret Thatcher, which seemed to suggest he had found his heroism in the 1990s to prepare Broadmoor for the then prime minister.
What motivates his behavior? This play suggests the need to please his beloved mother, Agnes Savile, whom he called the Duchess.

As a devout Catholic, there seems to have been a strong sense that Savile knew he was a terrible sinner and “turned” to God – so his charity work was an attempt to fight evil with good deeds.
In the scene where he is seen dead on his rafter, his fingers are crossed – perhaps suggesting that he is hoping for the best when he meets his maker.
Savile’s charity work allowed her to help vulnerable women. In one incident, he put his hand up the skirt of a disabled woman in a wheelchair at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.

The counter doesn’t stop many of Savile’s crimes from being exposed, even if it doesn’t show the worst moments.
Those moments are horrifying, whether it’s Boy Scout Kevin being assaulted in Savile’s dressing room or a 76-year-old woman being dismembered in a hospital morgue.
He has often expressed his sexuality, especially in some of the extreme crimes he has done on TV in recent years.

He appeared on the show with Sir David Frost in a top hat that read: “I am an animal.” He enjoys eating open meat, and his character says in the drama, “What’s the use of committing the perfect crime if no one knows you did it?”
Steve Coogan admires Savile and achieves what he sets out to do – portray all aspects of the monster from showman to monster without slipping into caricature.
With this charm and charisma, it’s easy to see how he fooled everyone for so long.
But looking at the whole story of his life in this way seems to prove that he is guilty of almost all the charges leveled against him.
