Boxer Bliss Unleashed: Navigating High-energy Companionship And Touching Bravery In 2023 – Humble beginnings: More than ten years ago, with no time to teach, Jonas, an art director and photographer for Bergdorf Goodman and Neiman Marcus, started teaching yoga in his home with a few students. Students brought their friends and the yoga community quickly grew and Second Side Yoga was born to bring yoga to regular students. Another Side of Yoga has become a place where students and teachers can practice their identity and growth.

Why the name of the two sides? We work the right and left sides of our body in yoga. Earlier in the history of our studio, we often found ourselves saying, “I love my side,” when we completed a Vinyasa sequence on one side of the body and moved on. Our tradition emphasizes that there is a “second” to the physical practice of yoga, just as there is a depth to our daily lives off the mat. Balance and love should be given to both parties. What we do is what we do everything.

Jonas’s yoga practice is a testament to perseverance and inspires many people. Having no physical activity before, he turned to yoga to relieve back pain and soon became a doctor. Unable to find a way to teach, he began teaching at home, eventually starting Second Side Yoga a decade ago with the help of the community.

Hayley Whited began teaching vinyasa yoga in 2018 after completing her 200-hour RYT certification at Gaia Flow Yoga in Dallas. She realized that the mental and physical benefits of practicing yoga were something special that she wanted to share with others. Her goal for each class is for students to leave better than when they arrived. With a background in dance, Hayley likes to create a unique routine for each class that allows students to move in new ways and of course more room to breathe.
