The fly-in is the gathering of pilots arriving by plane. The event is open to the public, honors all branches of the military, and includes displays of static and military aircraft, classic cars, children’s programs, live music, vendors, food trucks and the Beechcraft T-34, helicopter and airplane tours (one fee.) John “Lites” Leenhouts, distinguished Navy veteran and CEO, Sun ‘n Fun.

The “Best Civilian Aircraft” and “People’s Choice: Best Aircraft” contests are held where conventioneers can vote for their favorite aircraft at the Gator Fly-In. The winners will be announced by the competition judge, Colonel Joe Kittinger, who will present prizes to the two winners.

Activities, static displays and flights begin at 09:00. Activities include static airplanes and classic cars, military trucks, a kids’ corner with face painting, toy airplanes and coloring, craft vendors and food trucks. It starts at 11 a.m. with live music by Good Time Charlie and B-Sides, the “Flying Musicians”. Breakfast items are available for purchase at Maple Street Biscuit. Food vendors at the event include Eim Thai, El Punto, Poppy’s and Best Food Ever.
