How To Borrow Kindle Books For Free With Amazon Prime – I’ve been using a Kindle since 2013 (or earlier? Here’s an old school read for your reading pleasure. I had an idea the other day that I read in my book 😂) and I love to read. What I like most is that the number of books you want at once is not too large, you can read comfortably in any light, and it’s easy to get books for free (I can’t remember the last time I bought a Kindle for myself). Today I want to share with you an easy way to access books wherever you are at any time, and my top tips for getting the most out of your reading experience.
This is the first step in my favorite method of getting free books for your Kindle. Go to your local library and apply for a card! Not only is a library card great for getting physical books, it also has other benefits, such as being used to prove where you live. For example, you can use your New York Public Library card to get into the Met for free.

Libraries offer Kindle books through OverDrive. OverDrive isn’t very user-friendly in my experience, so you can download the Libby app instead, which comes with OverDrive. When you download the app, you’ll be prompted to sign in with your library card to access books (including audiobooks) from your library’s online collection.
Do You Prefer To Buy Or Borrow Ebooks? |
Each library has different rules about how many books you can check out at one time and how many holdings you can hold. Libby will drive you to and from the track so you don’t get late fees (you can also request an extra one, but the length of time depends on your library).
You can set your preferences for the types of books you want to see, as well as availability and format. When I check, it’s fine to set the availability to “Available Now,” but since you can save the book, it’s also fine to see what’s available once you can put it on the clipboard.
You can choose to see only books available for Kindle, or you can see books available to read right in the Libby app. If you’re looking at a book in Kindle format, you’ll be asked to sign in to your Amazon account and decide where you want the book sent (this is important to keep in mind if you share Amazon accounts with other family members who also have Kindles. ).
Another option is to get free Kindle books from Amazon. Most of them are available for free if you look for them. You can also share books with your friends who have Kindles, and if they have a Prime subscription, you can use Prime Reading for free.
How To Loan A Kindle Book
The last thing I did that I really enjoyed was using airplane mode on my Kindle. If I’m borrowing a really long book from the library and I know I might not be able to finish it even with the extension, I put the book on my Kindle and put it on airplane mode so it doesn’t automatically return. This means I can’t add more books at this point, but I’ve found that using this trick sometimes makes for longer books. Good news – you can read Kindle books for free with Amazon! I’m out of books and would easily spend several hundred dollars on books if it weren’t for Amazon’s freebies. There are thousands upon thousands of amazing free Kindle books available to you if you know where to look. Never be bored again!
You can read Kindle books on your computer, phone, tablet, and most other devices with the free Kindle reader app. Stuck in the waiting room? Just pull out your phone, download a free e-book and start reading.

If you’re an avid reader, you can take advantage of a Kindle Unlimited subscription. For as low as $9.99 per month, you have access to thousands of amazing books. If you wait for Prime in July, Kindle Unlimited subscriptions are still available at great prices. I have been subscribed for three years and I really like it! Many of my favorite authors are on Kindle Unlimited, which means I can read as many books as I want for a small monthly fee.
With Kindle Unlimited, you can borrow up to 10 books at a time with a subscription. That way my kids and husband can enjoy the benefits of an unlimited subscription. This is a great program if you and your family are avid readers. You can try Kindle Unlimited for free for 30 days and see if your family loves it. Just like lending a physical book to a friend, you can share the book you have on your Kindle Paperwhite. It’s a great way to share a great book you’ve finished with a friend you know you’ll enjoy. The best part is that the person you give the book to doesn’t have access to the Kindle Paperwhite. I can use my supported eReader or the free Kindle app.
Books you can borrow from others are listed in the Amazon Kindle Store. So if you want to know if you can borrow a book before you buy, check Delivery: Enabled under the book’s product details.
Also, if you don’t see the “Borrow this title” or “Borrow this book” options described below, you may want to double-check the product page to make sure you do. In the activation of remittances, as above.
