Also, if you’re worried about origination fees, you’re in luck because personal loans are undetectable. Origination fees are annoying fees that some lenders charge borrowers for taking out loans. Now that we’ve taken care of the background, let’s try making your dream DIY window a reality.

I started installing 1×3 molding to raise the wall. I cut it to size with a hacksaw, then nailed it to the wall with liquid nails on the back and nailed it in place using a mixer and 2 inch brads.

I decided to only do half a wall because I wanted to give the room a luxurious feel without taking up too much space. A full wall in a bedroom would be too much, but a halfway space provides just the right amount of “wow” factor.

After installing the 1×3 trim, I started installing the mirrors. This was probably the most boring part of the project, but also the most fun because I love learning new techniques.

Using glass cutters, I first drew the mirrors where I needed to cut them and then dropped them along the line I drew.

After cutting the mirror to size, I glued 9 mirror drops to the back of the mirror and placed the mirrors in the corresponding holes.

I first placed the mirrors in the custom holes to make sure they fit and then mounted them to the wall.

I was able to get my mirrors at a local hardware store; I had to go to several places to get 24 of them, but I finally managed to get them all. They usually don’t have many in one store, so it took a few trips to get the full one (especially after breaking a few), but it was worth it.

The good news is that if you can’t cut the glass yourself; They will cut it for you for free; If you buy their mirror. However, if you go this route, be prepared to take some time.

I had them cut the first two mirrors, but I quickly learned that it was faster to cut them myself, so I decided to learn how to cut mirrors myself. Either way, you have options.

They come in two sizes; Both 24″ x 30″ and 30″

; x 36″. I had to get both to have enough for this project, but I will say that it was easier to cut from a larger sheet.

Both window sizes are a much better value than I’ve seen out there, two different sources quoted over $2k for cutting them to size, but I only spent $700 using these windows.

After starting to install the mirrors, it was time to add the top trim. I decided to do double sided edging to add dimension to the wall and knew that the black and white combination would look good against the gray.

I painted the black trim first and then installed it directly over the white trim. I installed it using 2 inch nails and a mixer.

Once the mirror wall decor was up, I started working on the lower half of the wall. Since the mirrored part of the wall is a bit steep, I also wanted to highlight the lower part of the wall to maintain proportion.

I originally wanted to stick out the wall a bit more, but my original plan didn’t work, so I decided to add a 3/4 inch board to the wall to make sure the wall was in proportion.

I attached the board to the wall with 3″ construction screws and liquid nails to make sure it was firmly in place, then painted it a Behr’s Caffeine color to match the rest of the room.

Now that we’ve covered all the details, it’s time for the final reveal, so here it is.

Exciting is an understatement; I know how this glass wall came about. It turned out exactly as I thought it would.

Many of you have seen the 3D rendering I made of the room before launch and I nailed it because it looks exactly as I planned (with a few minor changes).

But even remembering where this room came from makes me wonder. Total difference between day and night when we started.

I’m so excited to get rid of this wallpaper because it’s so dated and gives this room an 80’s vibe.

I have to say, as confident as I was, I was thrilled to see the mirror wall come to life and it exceeded my expectations.

The inspiration for this mirror wall was a wall in my previous home; I loved it so much that I knew I had to take it to the lake house.

I didn’t want to do the same thing, so I decided to put it in the bedroom and add depth with a double panel, and I wasn’t disappointed. A wall of mirrors is a truly eye-catching piece.

Overall, I’m very excited about this mirror wall and excited that my room is close to being finished, and thank you so much for finding a personal loan for helping me bring this project to life. – While “DIY” projects you can do yourself can be cheaper than hiring a professional, tools and materials can still be expensive.
