Santiago Lopez, who was just 19 years old when he reached the milestone in February 2019, attributes his success to his incredible work ethic and the balance of time it takes to reap the rewards.

Although his previous highest bounty has been overshadowed by the huge rewards offered by programs run by Facebook, Sony PlayStation, and Apple, Lopez now sits at number two on HackerOne’s all-time leaderboard.

Lopez, from Buenos Aires, who won her first insect award when she was 16 and has since gone on to find success at Twitter, Uber and Airbnb, tells Daily Swig the secrets behind her outperforming most of the world’s insect hunters. .

I remain very grateful to be the first hacker to reach this milestone, and I am honored to see my work recognized and appreciated.

I’m very proud that as a result of my work, companies and the people who trust them are safer than ever before. This motivates me to push myself to take hacking to the next level.

When it comes to finding bugs, I’m mostly interested in finding as many bugs as possible in a short period of time and getting good money for them. Some people say “quality over quantity” – but I love quantity!

What do you think is the main reason for its success? What makes you see mistakes that others don’t? Your methods, do you spend long hours? Or is it a natural talent for hacking?

I usually spend six to seven hours hacking every day, which is more than most ethical hackers do.

When I look for bugs, I always look for the least serious ones – I’m not a fan of complex ones. My goal is to find the highest value bugs in the shortest time possible. If the software is between $500 and $2k each, I would consider it a great value.

Reward And Benefits

In a previous interview, he mentioned that his specialty is finding Insecure Direct Object Reference (IDOR) vulnerabilities. Why is this area interesting?

I like these vulnerabilities because they are easy to find and most major programs pay well for them. I focus on maximizing my time and finding what works best for me.

Besides being an IDOR fan, I’m also fascinated by other vulnerabilities like XSS (cross-site scripting), permission pattern issues, or SSRF. I like these attacks because they are easy to find and most companies pay a lot of money for them.

Most interestingly it allowed me to delete all users created by the company in question. Other organizations allowed me to modify important company settings without permission.

Credit Card Act Of 2009: What Is It And How Does It Affect You?

What types of programs do you typically target and how do you decide? Does it depend, for example, on the type of technology or the reputation of the program?

Naturally, the programs you are interested in are paid. I don’t care if they are private or not, or famous; I’m interested in the fact that it allows me to explore and research new things in diverse scopes.

Likewise, I know some people have problems posting errors they shouldn’t. This is a very common situation in the community, but we all do our best to be as professional as possible.

I am currently a full time bug hunter. However, I would like to study in the future.

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI), the set of algorithms that can generate new real-world content, such as text, images or audio, for so-called training data to resemble human outputs, is one of the most important technological achievements in modern history. More than just another wave of breakthrough technology, GenAI has the potential to be truly transformative. In smaller case examples, we have already seen the speed of adoption, the market expectations surrounding it, and its power to increase productivity. Despite its relative youth, GenAI has proven to be a game-changer. (See Figure 1.)

GenAI impacts many aspects of daily life, including how we buy things and therefore how we pay, making the payments industry a particularly fertile ground for GenAI-driven transformation. Technology provides clear opportunities on the consumer side of the business (how people pay online) and the operational side (how payments companies build, implement and operate their business models). But how can different players in the payments ecosystem leverage GenAI’s capabilities to benefit their organizations and customers?

In order to explore these and related questions, I investigated how GenAI impacts individual links in the payment value chain. Our team followed a structured process consisting of the following five initiatives:

Our findings revealed multiple scenarios whose commercial success depends on factors such as an organization’s comprehensive understanding of how GenAI actually works, the technical capabilities of the starting point, the quality and effectiveness of training, a commitment to responsible AI, and its presence or complete absence. . . Purchase a C-wing for the transformation. Indeed, payment players who fail to recognize the potential, inevitability, and readiness of GenAI will ultimately face a dual problem: dissatisfied customers who expect high levels of service, and competitors who were early adopters of GenAI. technology and they are in a better position to do this.

On the consumer pay side, over the past 25 years, digital commerce has completely changed the way people shop due to its convenience and ubiquity. We hope GenAI will support the coming transformation.

Specifically, GenAI is widely expected to modernize the online payment experience, heralding a new era of personalized conversational commerce. This is what a streamlined buying journey powered by GenAI looks like:

In addition, payment companies behind the scenes play an important role in supporting and enhancing the shopping experience. This support may include several measures:

From a product perspective, we see a fundamental need for payments operators to enable API access to various intermediaries – through conversational commerce and interactions with chatbots through portals – and support more B2C applications in the adjacent and broader financial services space.

How Wanting Less Leads To Satisfaction

Even with GenAI, some things don’t change. Strict regulatory and security protocols will remain in place, and merchants will remain aware of your customer obligations. Overall, we see GenAI as part of a technological evolution rather than a revolution in consumer payments.

In our opinion, GenAI’s potential in the payment space largely depends on this
